Who We Are

Overview

Woman and Boy at Kitchen Sink

Our organization was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. We welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and serve people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion.

Serving Gregg, Harrison, and Upshur Counties since 1985

At Northeast Texas Habitat for Humanity, we believe everyone deserves a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. Since our founding in 1985, we have been working to eliminate substandard housing in our region by partnering with low-income individuals and families to create long-term housing stability.

We offer qualified applicants the opportunity to build and purchase their own homes through an affordable mortgage. For existing homeowners, we provide critical repairs that address health, safety, and accessibility needs—helping families remain safely in the homes they already own.

In addition to construction and repair, we support successful homeownership with education, training, and resources designed to promote lasting financial and housing security.

Together, we’re building more than homes—we’re building hope, stability, and a stronger community.
